Nothing really got fixed, but that’s because there’s nothing to fix. But I did get her washed and waxed and then took her to car show.
Disclaimer: I didn’t pay to enter my car, I just did it more as a joke.
I judged that show. Sadly I couldn’t vote for my car for obvious reasons. The show itself is pretty large, about 90 cars in town of 3500. The car that won Best in Show wasn’t unanimous due to me (it was an ugly but well-built 69 Camero). At least my vote for Best in Show won its division.
And this won Tuner:
Mostly due to the fact it was the only tuner.
And this Ford won Non-Street Legal. The amount of noise this made was incredible.
The winner of my division (Import): an unmolested, legit Twin Turbo Supra.
One owner and only the wheels and exhaust tip have been changed, both due to practical reasons: the reg wheels have winter tires and the factory exhaust tip got bent when backing down a steep driveway. Oh, and the owner is British.

No, I was going to but I got talking with the Supra owner for about an hour. And by then I had to go review stuff with the other judges.

I mean that’s pretty good for an 18 year old car with 260k on it.

Surprisingly no Brits whatsoever. We did have an awesome VW Westfalia with a Subie Flat 4 tho.

Please tell me about your Lexus. How do you like it? How long have you had it? Any major maintenance headaches? Average gas mileage?
I’ve been seeing these come up a lot lately, with surprisingly low miles...

Absolutely in love. I’ve had it for 2 months, 400 miles. I have spent $950 in maintenance, but $800 of that was preventative (timing belt, tensioners, pulley, etc. Didn’t know previous service history, so at 260k it was already done or about to break). The other stuff is minor fixes. It’s started up everyday even with a weak battery, no funny noises. It’s decently quick, and very comfortable. It looks and drives like a much newer car. Fuel economy kinda sucks, but that’s what you get with a 5-Speed Auto. It’s about 17-18 in normal driving (medium speeds, stoplights, light traffic). I’ll be doing a review here soon and will be taking it on its first roadtrip, to Michigan (close to 400 miles, one way).
